As a founding member of ODC, Mr. Prem Bahadur Singh has played
a significant role in guiding the growth of ODC Inc. His foresight,
dedication and strong advocacy to ethical issues in development
have contributed significantly to ODC Inc. adopting a culture
of "People First."
Mr. Singh strongly believes that for development to be sustainable
the people (stakeholders) must be at the core of the process.
Mr. Singh has a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Economics
& Masters Degree in Rural Development Planning from the
University of East Anglia, Norwich in UK. He has been involved
in formulating, implementing and monitoring poverty alleviation
programmes in rural Nepal since the 1980's. His expertise
is in participatory development planning, especially in rural
settings. Believing firmly in decentralisation & bottom
up approach that sustainable & effective poverty alleviation
should start at grassroots level with active participation
of stakeholders. Mr. Singh has spent over 27 years of his
career in development working with grassroots organisations
and has traveled extensively 73 districts of rural Nepal.
He has contributed significantly to the development sector
through continual efforts in analysing and disseminating information
on poverty alleviation and possible alternatives and its difficulties
to development practitioners/ organisations in Nepal and abroad.
He is currently the Head of Sub Office Dadeldhura for the
United Nations World Food Programme.

Dr. Ken Afful has over 30 years of international experience
as an organisation development (OD)/Capacity Development (CD)
Practitioner, a Development Economist, Educationist and a
Behavioural scientist. He has provided training and consultancy
services to organisations in the development, corporate and
public service sectors in the Asia Pacific region region (Nepal,
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan ,Sri Lanka, Thailand and Fiji)
as well as in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, the United
Kingdom, Denmark and Spain. He has worked with organisational
leaders and practitioners to improve behaviour at the work
place. He has actively guided organisations in the formulation
and implementation of policies, strategies and programmes.
Dr. Afful's experience in Asial spans over 20 years and covers
organisations in the development, private (profit and not
for profit) and service sectors. Dr. Afful has travelled extensively
across Nepal covering over 50 of the 75 districts in the line
of duty. For several years Ken was a professor of Organisational
Behaviour (OB) & OD at Kathmandu University's School of
Management. He has also managed organisations in the private
sector (profit and non-profit) including commodity suppliers
and educational institutions in Nepal and abroad.
At ODC inc. Dr Afful's core responsibility is to lead the
three organisations (Organisation Development Centre (ODC),
Institute of Development Management Studies (IDMS) and Sansthagat
Bikas Consultancy Kendra (SBCK)) as Executive Chairman under
the umbrella of ODC Inc.'s. Dr. Afful is responsible strategic
management of the three organisations. His specific responsibilities
include leading the strategic direction of ODC Inc. including;
enhancing internal and external relations, managing, ODC Inc's.
key strategic businesses, enhancing relations with national
and international clientele/partners and to expand our services
to a wider market. Dr. Afful is also the coordinator of the
Publications and Research Unit of Institute of Development
Management Studies (IDMS) and the Chairperson of 'The Organisation'
magazine to which he makes regular contributions.
Dr. Afful has published several books, research papers, manuals
and other literature on management, development economics
and behaviour in organisations. Dr. Afful holds a PhD. in
Development Economics from Lancaster University, U.K., an
MSc (Advanced Management Programme) from Danbury Management
Centre, (now University of East London), a Postgraduate Diploma
in Management Studies from Dundee College of Technology, Scotland,
and a Certificate in International Business Strategy from
the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE).
Dr. Afful also holds Certificates and Advanced Certificates
in Education and Training from Ghana and the UK. Dr. Afful
is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute of the United
Kingdom. |

Mr. Mohan Das Manandhar, is the senior most executive leader
and a founding member of Organisation Development Center Incorporated
(ODC Inc.). He is also the Head of Ace Institute of Management-a
learning institute that offers graduate and post graduate
courses in business and management.
An expert in Development Management, Organisational Behaviour
(OB) and Organisation Development (OD), Mr. Manandhar has
acquired 25 years of hands-on experience in the development
sector, academia and the industrial sector in Nepal including
Ministries, multi-laterals, bi-laterals, INGOs and several
countries in the North and in the South. Mr. Manandhar was
associated with Kathmandu University where he served in various
capacities from Associate Professor of OB, OD and Financial
Management to Acting Dean. He has also been a visiting faculty
member at Lancaster University (UK).
Mr. Manandhar's core expertise is in supporting policy-making
initiatives and designing programmes and projects for various
development partners. He has conducted several evaluations,
reviews and assessments of programmes and partner organisations
in development and has led change management processes and
OD interventions. He has also provided services in management
development and training to senior executives and managers
in various organisations in the South including Bangladesh
(UNFPA), Laos (SNV) and Nepal (HMG/N, donors, NGOs/INGOs).
He has published books, papers, articles and case studies
in the area of OB, Entrepreneurship, HRM, OD and Management.

Ms. Gurung has a degree in Economics and Resource Management
from the Agricultural University of Norway. During her involvement
with ODC, she has developed expertise in the fields of organisation
development, management, research, training and consultancy.
She has carried out OD interventions and competency development
programmes of varied scopes for different organisations, including
ministries and departments of government, multilateral and
bilateral agencies and INGOs and NGOs. She has been involved
in programme design and management, evaluations, reviews and
assessments of development programmes/projects including organisation
analysis and studies on partnership and strengthening of partners
in the development sector. Her interest in development economics
has been reflected in her pursuit of socio-economic research
and community development, in particular strengthening community
level organisations. Her expertise in human resource development,
training and facilitation has led her to international exposure
in the South East Asia and East African Region for SNV and
in Bangladesh for UNFPA.

Krishna
Hari Thapa, MBA (India)

Mr. Thapa is one of the founding members of ODC Inc. Over
his 19 years in the development sector, Mr. Thapa has managed
and coordinated programmes and activities in large and small
organisations including performance development systems for
various health and development organisations. What motivates
Mr. Thapa in his work is mainly the feedback he receives at
field level: “The smile on the faces of the community
people when we work with them as change agents – not
as experts”. As a consultant, Mr. Thapa attempts to
maintain a balance in research, training and consulting –
to ensure that each is current and that each provides a source
and outlet for practical ideas in supporting organisations
and individuals. His interests and areas of expertise include
supporting communities and organisations in bringing about
social change and transformation, decentralisation, group
dynamics and career counselling.

Mr. Maharjan worked in the Finance and Administrative Department
of various development sector organisations prior joining
the Operation Department of ODC Inc., as a Deputy Cooperate
Operational Director. His duties and responsibilities include
managing daily operations, planning the use of materials and
purchasing according to organiational need. Mr. Maharjan also
coordinates and confers with support staffs to resolve operational
problems and difficulties, and authorise department operational
procedures within the corporate framework. |

Ms. Shrestha specialises in Organisation Development (OD)
and Human Resource Management. At ODC Inc., she has augmented
her interest in OD and Social Research with assignments in
OD Process Consultation, Human Resource Management and Action
Research. According to Ms. Shrestha, "Philosophy of placing
people at the core is put to practice at ODC Inc. This together
with the constantly and consciously promoted learning environment
and the feeling that every single assignment is an opportunity
to make a meaningful contribution in people's life propels
me to strive towards personal and professional excellence".
Ms. Shrestha's contribution includes research, reviews, program
assessment/ evaluations and facilitation of OD interventions
such as organisational assessment, developing capacity development
strategies including facilitation of strategic planning process.
She has also supported development sector organisations in
their Human Resource Management such as recruitment and outplacement,
designing HR systems and policies (performance appraisal system,
personal policies etc) as well as facilitating individual
and organisational learning by developing and facilitating
a number of learning and competency development programmes
(both in-house and tailor made).

Mr. Singh holds a Master's degree in Arts from Tribhuvan University
with specialisation in Sociology. He has spent more than 10
years of his career in the development sector, working for
the community at grassroots level. He has professional experiences
in Programme Management, Project Management, Organisation
Management, Training and Facilitation. Mr. Singh also has
a strong field based experience in the issues of Gender, Social
Inclusion, Human Rights, Right to Food and Community Mobilisation.
His special interest lies in research, gender & development,
right based approach and community development. He believes
that the development of the people at grass root level is
only possible by mobilising them and also through right
based approach. Currently, he is an Operation Manager of
SBCK field office at Nepalgunj. At SBCK, he has been involved
in various assignments like: program and project review,
OD assessment, NGO mapping, OD evaluation, program evaluation
and capacity building.

Rhian

Ms. Cadvan-Jones is a human resource professional by background
now specialising in Organisation Development (OD) and Change.
She is passionate about people and the value of genuine participation
in improving organisational health and effectiveness.
Her experience includes helping leaders
manage complex organisations and achieve successful organisational
change. She has developed initiatives that engage people
in creating new ways of working to deliver organisational
goals. In addition to developing and implementing a range
of workforce strategies (including reward, human resource
development and diversity), Ms. Cadvan-Jones undertakes
organisation-wide diagnostic assessments; designs and runs
large group events to support strategy development and action
planning; offers group process consultancy to help teams
and groups run more effectively; coaches leaders; delivers
training programmes and advises on how to align communications
during change initiatives. She has a sound understanding
of governance underpinned by over 15 years of experience
working at director level in the public and voluntary sector
in the UK. She has a Business Degree, is a qualified Organisation
Development practitioner and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Personnel and Development in the UK.

Ms. Silwal, an MBA graduate from Ace Institute of Management
has special interest in Organisational Development, and the
dynamics of organisational complexities in the development
management practices. Joining ODC Inc. has accentuated her
specialisation in OD & Human Resource Development. She
strongly believes in developing healthy organisations through
people. She has been involved in carrying out OD interventions,
Organisational Review and Evaluations. Her direct human resource
experiences include design, coordination and delivery of different
learning programmes aimed at developing managerial and leadership
competencies. Having a keen interest in Human Resources Management,
Ms. Silwal participates in placement services (recruitment)
carried by ODC for various organisations in the development
sector.

Mr. Maharjan has been working at ODC as a Associate Consultant.
Prior to that, he was working as ICT Associate. Mr. Maharjan
provides technical and programme management support to ODC's
regular training programmes and various studies. What he likes
about ODC's culture is that one learns something new everyday
at ODC and another is people at ODC do not display
hierarchy.

Ms. Rai is a Masters Degree holder in liberal arts from Pune
University, India, with economics as her specialisation. Her
areas of experience include gender mainstreaming; organisation
assessment, workshops facilitation, recruitment and human
resource management. She is constantly seeking to respond
to new challenges and contribute towards effective management
of organisations. This she seeks to achieve by combining of
her skills as an economist and with her expertise as an organisation
development practitioner.

Mr. Magar has Master's Degree in Economics and Rural Development,
and Post Graduate Degree of Education (PGDE) in Economics
and Educational Administration. He has professional experience

His keen interest is in research and development economics
as ingredients of community development. His philosophy is
'Honesty in behavior, respect to all, dedication to people
and commitment to work.'

Mr. Maharjan is one of the founding members of ODC. As the
logistics/procurement manager at ODC Inc., he oversees all
logistics and procurement activities including liaising, providing
administrative support and material management. The social
philosophy prevailing in ODC Inc. is one of the things that
motivate Mr. Maharjan in his work. He is sure that whatever
challenge ODC Inc. faces, the organisation will manage due
to the commitment and positive thinking of all the members:
"But we will have to work harder than the past decade!"

Mr. Maharjan is Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
on Windows Server 2003. As the Information, Communication
and Technology (ICT) Manager, Mr. Maharjan is in-charge of
administrating all ICT needs of ODC Inc. and the three sister
organisations. He oversees the smooth functioning of ICT aids
including software installation and upgrades, maintenance,
and troubleshooting. He provides drafting assistance and technical
support in the layout and design of all publications of ODC
Inc., including the quarterly publication The Organisation
magazine. Mr. Maharjan has also facilitated learning
sessions on technical skills; specifically MS office application
software such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and use of email
and the Internet.

Ms. Lama is working as a Young Professional under YP Programme
where she provides support to ODC's regular programmes. She
previously joined ODC Inc. as an intern and later was assigned
as a Publication Assistant for The Organisation, the quarterly
magazine of ODC Inc. Ms. Lama has Bachelor's Degree in Social
Work from Kathmandu University and is currently pursuing her
Masters in Sociology. She thinks that the friendly and helpful
working environment at ODC is helping her to grow as a professional.
